I did Albania as part of a larger Balkans self drive tour. You can spend 1-2 nights in Tirana which allowed me to explore the city and experience the local culture. 1 night in Berat which is an old town and UNESCO World Heritage site I really liked the scenic but its heavily touristed. A night in Pogradec or smaller surrounding towns provided much quieter and relaxed experience than Berat.
