Salam. Ours was a specific family winter trip in February, hence focused and limited.

Arrive at Tblisi airport, collect pre-booked rental car. Pajero was rather tight for 3A and 3C + luggage and a few paraphernalia, but the company was kind enough to fix a roof rack FOC later. Tblisi accommodation was a nice house but access was challenged by road works, and parking in the narrow lanes demanded extra skills.

Except for the brekkie as part of our booked lodgings, we opted for self-prepared cooked meals, since this was meant to be a family holiday out in the cold winter. Didn’t bother looking for halal meat, so shifted to seafood instead. We headed straight to Gudauri for facilities and accommodation were decently so so, not the high end but sufficient for us. Few supermarkets available on the highland.

Tblisi – okay, spent some time driving around, visiting the market. That’s about it.

One important point, ATMs only dispense a limited amt of local cash (GEL) so u get charged for each transaction (not all places accept credit cards). road signs were not so clear (or maybe i got distracted in the bz tourist area ) and got stopped by the traffic police and fined.

I am currently in Georgia almost at the end of my trip. Halal food is difficult to get and unreliable . Google maps shows non Halal restaurants too when u search for halal restaurants. And the so called halal restaurants do not have any official certificate etc. Just a green halal written somewhere. If you plan on going to Gudauri, Mestia, Bakuriani come prepared for snow temperatures.
