Is it walking distance from Haram?

It is right outside haram and within walking distance.

I suggest staying in Hyatt Regency- nearly 12 lifts. 2 lifts to go to their own mosque. Very convenient to walk and very close to Harm, especially nowadays. Flat walk. However, it may not be the best value for money.  We found it much easier to go back to the hotel than to go to public toilets and then back to Haram. Also, the food court is there so you don’t waste time.  If you are a member of the Hyatt program, then you may get some discounts and other offers.

If you are doing tawaf on the first floor and use the ramp to come out on Ajyad Street, then these hotels are nearest, so work very well for elderly relatives.  They have escalators for the first two floors, so unlike clock tower hotels, you don't have to wait long for lifts.

For the Hyatt, it is best to book directly on their website. If you join the loyalty clubs for major hotel brands, you can save up to 10% when booking directly.

Here is a list of groups to consider - they often have mid-tier hotels too.

We stayed at Dar ul Eeman and had a good experience.  A friend stayed at the same hotel last month and liked it.

Adding to the above, Shaza might be a bit of a walk to Haram if you travel with older people.

 As I was only there for 3/4 days, it was sufficient. Most of the food courts, etc, are on the other side of Shaza.

I am really fond of Double Tree Jabal Omar. Shuttles are available 24x7 and within walking distance to Haram. Good price.

I would highly recommend Hibbat ul Makkah - 10 mins walking distance from Haram.

I’ve stayed at the Conrad makkah.

It depends on your budget. We stayed at the Fairmont in the clock tower and would most definitely recommend this.

If you prefer to stay at the clock tower hotels, the most reasonably priced is Pullman zamzam or Maqam. It may not be as good in quality as others, but its price better than others.
