"I used the Grab app, which is Malaysian version of Uber. It’s super convenient, reliable, and cheap. Taxis are also really affordable, but Grab gives you fixed prices, so no haggling needed. Highly recommend it for moving around the city.

"Same here! Grab worked perfectly for me when I visited. It’s easy to use, and you don’t have to worry about finding parking specially if you’re visiting crowded spots."

"If you're planning to use public transport, KL Sentral is a great hub to stay near. It connects you to everything: the LRT (Light Rail Transit), MRT (Mass Rapid Transit), monorail, and even airport express trains. Super convenient and lots of budget to luxury hotels around."

"Also, the monorail and trains are excellent for exploring key areas of KL like Bukit BintangKLCC, and Chinatown. For longer trips outside the city, you can take buses from TBS (Terminal Bersepadu Selatan), which is KL's main bus terminal

Malaysia has a well developed transportation network, so you don’t necessarily need a car. In major cities like Kuala Lumpur, public transport is good , there are trains, light rail, and buses, and apps like Grab (the local equivalent of Uber) make it easy to get taxis.

For intercity travel, long-distance buses are comfortable and affordable, and there are some train routes (e.g. KL to Butterworth for Penang). You can also find cheap domestic flights for longer distances or to Borneo. Renting a car is an option if you plan to explore rural areas or want more flexibility, but be aware that traffic in cities can be heavy and Malaysians drive on the left.

Overall, most travelers find public transport and the occasional Grab ride sufficient for getting around.
