Been to turkey few times there is something there that attract you to go again and again. We stayed in Antalya in a resort and for that I would recommend Halal booking as you get segregated beaches etc

I always keep Konya in my Turkey trips. Get mesmerized by the peace of that place. (N.b: a big fan of Mevlana Rumi so I may be biased in my opinion)

Konya road to Karaman is one of the best mountain landscapes covered with snow

Turkey is so massive, and it depends on what sort of holiday you are looking for. If planning for 2-3 days trip - better to stay in Istanbul,  lot of places to see, Blue mosque, Hagia sofia, Topkapi Palace,  Tomb of Hazrat Abu Ayub Ansari RA in Eyup there is a chair lift that takes you to a hill called Pierre Loti, where you have panoramic views of Golden Horn. Not far from eyup was a dolphin show that kids loved.

For those who want to have relaxed beach holiday,  antalya. Lot of resorts with segregated facilities: If interested in Hill station Trabzon and Rize, which is close to the Georgia border. We went few years ago , very beautiful. I liked Rize more than trabzon. There was a place called Ayder which was lush green plaetu.

My last trip was “all inclusive” resort in Antalya then road trip from Antalya to Konya then road trip to Cappadocia then I took a flight to Istanbul and then back to Uk . About 3-4 days at all places except Konya where 1 day is enough or may be 2

I had a wonderful experience but make sure to have full insurance as rental companies can be about dodgy so better to get full cover. Purchase that online. Mine was covered by my bank. Online is cheaper to book rather than local. I picked th car from Antalya airport and dropped it off at Cappadocia airport

Re Istanbul convo I would recommend staying in Older part of Istanbul and either use Uber or Tram to get around.

Sultan-Ahmet is the main area where the touristy stuff is but accommodation is okish and overpriced plus food around the area is not as great compared to the outer part of the area. Seems very commercialised in Sultan-Ahmet

I would suggest staying in the Asian side of İstanbul, saving a bit, and taking the train to the European side should anyone want some adventure. Russians did this all the time.
