Does anyone have any recommendations on which central Asian city to visit for a 2-3 day trip?

A lot of cities in the region are amazing in their own way, but Bukhara has a special charm about it that makes it ideal for a short getaway.
- The old city is beautifully preserved and very walkable I could easily explore all the main sites on foot without rushing.
- There is an incredible sense of history and spirituality everywhere you go; Bukhara has been a key center of Islamic learning for centuries.
- The architecture is simply stunning from majestic minarets to peaceful courtyards and ancient madrasahs.
- I loved the calm, timeless atmosphere. It felt authentic, a city still living its rich Silk Road heritage, not just a tourist spot.
- The food was amazing traditional Uzbek dishes like Plov, Lagman, and Shashlik served in cozy, historic settings made every meal memorable.
- Shopping for local crafts, textiles, and ceramics was a real highlight. You get genuine, handmade souvenirs directly from artisans.
- The evenings around Lyabi Hauz were perfect for relaxing with a tea or dinner while soaking up the ambiance.
Overall, it felt like a complete getaway experience with culture, history, food, and a peaceful vibe all packed into a small, manageable city. I came away feeling like I really connected with the heart of the region.
