I am going to Uzbekistan next month Insha’Allah please can you send a brief itinerary along with any decent food spots if you found any Jzk!
If you like grilled food try Shokhrukh shashlik restaurant which is fairly close to Registan square Samarkand, fresh food, not a fancy restaurant but food is great.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Uzbekistan and I must say it was a truly wonderful experience! For anyone who has not been yet I would highly recommend adding it to your travel list. The blend of rich Islamic heritage, stunning architecture, and warm hospitality makes it a destination worth exploring.
If you find yourself in Bukhara, I highly recommend a visit to the family run Donut and Coffee for refreshments hands down the best doughnuts I had, and the family was incredibly welcoming.
Over in the Fergana Valley, in Kokand city, Chaikhana Bahor is a very affordable teahouse that serves amazing Manti (Dumplings). In Fergana City, Ikrom Grand Café offers delicious Lagman (noodle soup) and is a reasonably priced, family-friendly spot.
In Samarkand, Bibikhanum Teahouse had an amazing experience trying traditional Uzbek food and light snacks. Alternatively, Platan offers a slightly upscale but affordable dining experience with a great fusion of Uzbek and European dishes.
And finally, in Khiva, highlight of the whole trip for me was the Shivit Oshi (green dill noodles) at Bir Gumbaz a truly unique and tasty dish in a beautiful setting.
