It’s best recommended to travel between cities by train eg Taşkent Samarkand and Bukhara but if traveling to Khiva than best it at least travel one side by Plane . However if someone want to visit Fergana valley from Taşkent than spare at least two days for this trip from Taşkent . Taşkent it’s self is a metropolitan city and not much to see here . The accommodation here can be pricy as compared to rest of the trip . One can also rent a car here .
I also strongly recommend if you want to use Taxis use Yandex go app as otherwise Taxi drivers will rip you off .
For Yandex go you need an Uzbek mobile no otherwise it won’t register you . So get your uzbeck mobile sim from airport where you land .
One more thing you if you travel to Khiva by plane book your transport for transfer in advance via hotel or otherwise as you may find it difficult to find a taxi on spot particularly if you arriving late . The nearest airport to Khiva is urgench which is a different city .
Yandex go does not work in Khiva.
Book your hotel near to Khiva old city itself so you can travel by foot
Also for Bukhara book your hotel near old city so you can see most of the attractions on foot .
However Samarkand you have to use taxis or transport to see various attractions. Taşkent also use taxis or rent car .
Only best rate currency is USD.,
Trains are generally good and cheap . I was not able to book tickets online but people have booked tickets online .
Book it directly from Uzbek railway app or website and not from third party as third parties are expensive
