Many of you must have come across “Minarets in the Mountains” by Tharik Hussain. It became popular because it opened a window into a part of Europe that is often forgotten, the indigenous Muslim communities of the Balkans. His storytelling, mixed with history and travel, resonated with readers worldwide.

Now there is exciting news. Tharik has a new book coming soon, “Muslim Europe: A Journey in Search of a Fourteen Hundred Year History”.

As the name suggests, this one goes even further, exploring 1,400 years of Muslim history across the continent. For those living in Europe, it’s a reminder that Islam is not just a recent arrival but is deeply rooted in the fabric of European history. And for travellers visiting Europe, it offers a new way to see familiar places with fresh eyes.

As historian William Dalrymple puts it: “A book I’ve been longing for someone to write, and Hussain is the man to write it.”

The book is out on Nov 20, 2025 but you can pre-order it here.
