Junaid tells me they even supply free water to 500 villagers, and any excess electricity generated is distributed to the community, without charge.

“Our carbon footprint is zero, we produce our own power, collect rainwater, and support the local ecosystem. Even our bee farm gives us organic honey and beeswax, which we use to make handmade candles.”

But it’s not just the environment that benefits. Villa Ayun is a powerful social enterprise, too.

“We only hire locals and pay above market rates to female artisans who craft our cushions and decor. This way, we’re not just offering guests a meaningful stay. we’re also uplifting our community,” he explains.
