Looking for recommendations for reasonably priced, neat and clean hotels in both Makkah and Madinah for 2 nights each, suitable for two people. Prefer walking distance or easy shuttle access to the Haramain, with reliable cleanliness and good value rather than luxury.

I work with Tawaf Global, a UK Hajj and Umrah agency, and for short stays I usually suggest looking slightly beyond the closest hotels to the Haram. You can often find cleaner, quieter rooms for less money a short walk away. Reading recent guest reviews helps, as standards can change quickly.
