I am planning a trip to KL with my wife, can I also visit Thailand either by road or train, is it too far or doable??

If time permits (2 weeks), try the train up north into the border of Thailand, or take the east-coast railway. Few amazing islands –Tioman, Redang, Kapas.
For more adventure, you can try the national parks (e.g. Taman Negara) 4D3N
