Ayder is not very far from Trabzon or Rize airports. A common approach is to stay in Ayder for a few days and do day trips from there. Many of the scenic “above the clouds” plateaus require off-road access, so travellers often use local jeeps or drivers rather than standard rental cars. You can either hire a car and combine it with local jeep tours, or book organised day trips from Ayder or Trabzon-based agencies.
