From Carlisle, many travellers recommend renting a car (e.g., Enterprise, Hiyacar, Turo) and driving to St Abbs (about 2 hours), then continuing to Edinburgh Airport. Public transport via train to Berwick‑upon‑Tweed plus bus is possible but less flexible, and local taxis/Uber are limited. St Abbs is scenic but has very limited halal options, so buy halal food in Carlisle (which has many halal restaurants) and take it with you.
